New web-based area study for the Seven Dials Trust.
WCD took on this web-based conservation project after the previous web development company had folded, leaving the website poorly developed and designed. We took the project from initial ‘concept design’ through to completion, with the codebase completely rewritten and website almost entirely redesigned. General conservation and architectural advice was also provided throughout.
The study builds upon two earlier studies, one of which had been funded by the House of Lords as a national exemplar. Despite being community based, it is confirmed as being a material consideration in planning decisions in the area. It supplements but in practical terms supersedes the existing Seven Dials Conservation Area study from the 1990s.
It is particularly notable in providing interactive street views and map-based navigation of every building in the area, with architectural and historic photography and information on designations and significance.
